Despite <\/s>Because of my second-place win at the pub quiz last night I\u2019ve been feeling a little under the weather today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And looking at today\u2019s post number, it\u2019s rather obvious why: I haven\u2019t had a day since I started all this when I haven\u2019t had at least one beer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oops. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m not turning into a raging alcoholic but I rather forgot that I\u2019m on a six-week journey not a week in the Canaries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I\u2019ve had a day off today, and will do tomorrow and probably Friday (which is a travel day anyway) and give my processing organs a rest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I eventually dragged myself out to get some food around the corner and then remembered about the \u201ccanalside night market\u201d about twenty minutes walk away. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twenty minutes sweaty<\/em> walk; it\u2019s really humid today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wasn\u2019t really all that special, a rather grotty canal with various stalls and cafe bars alongside it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But also some more aloof cats (I know, all cats are aloof but Chiang Mai cats are the aloofest). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And some wall (part of what\u2019s left of the original city wall). A kind of moat runs around the entire old city. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
